The project
Where it is going
What is being worked towards, what has already arrived, and what is deliberately not planned.
The software is free and stays free. These are intentions rather than promises, with no dates attached: they arrive as the work allows, and what churches actually ask for is what gets built first.
What is being worked towards
| Thing | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| A signed download | So Windows stops warning about it the first time. A signing certificate is a yearly cost the project does not carry today, and it is the first thing any support would go towards — a warning is one more thing standing between a church and a working projector |
| A macOS version | For churches running the booth on a Mac. The program is written in a way that can cross over; it is a question of the work and of having a Mac to test on properly |
| More translations | Including any a publisher is willing to license. Every free text that can be included already is — the gap is the licensed ones. How a publisher's text would be treated |
| Songs and lyrics | The same projection surface for what the congregation sings, not only what is read |
Already arrived
Things that used to be on this list and are now in the software:
- Control from a tablet — shipped in 1.2. The operator is no longer tied to the desk. How it works
- Updates from inside the program — shipped in 1.2, and they leave your settings and Bibles alone. Updating
- Installing Bibles without a rebuild — shipped in 1.1. Adding translations
What is not planned
Being everything. It projects Scripture, and it is meant to be learnable by a volunteer on the morning they first use it. Every feature that gets added is weighed against that.
Asking for something
If one of these is the difference between using the software and not, say so — that moves it up the list more than anything else does. Get in touch.
